Bachelor of Solar Engineering (BaSE)
A new era has started. 21st century is characterized by significant changes in energetic strategies and practice. Especially in countries with high surplus of sun energy, renewable energies will be the most simple and cheapest source of energy supply.
Against this background, Ghana Technology University College (GTUC/Accra) and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) have decided to create a Bachelor study course on Solar Engineering (BaSE). The 6-semester program is aimed to provide students with knowledge both in fundamental engineering subjects and in special fields related with solar engineering. Examples for this are:
Introduction into Photovoltaics, Physics of the Solar Cell, Solarthermal Systems, Fundamentals of Electrochemistry, Power Electronics, PV Systems in Theory and Practice, Team Project, Solar Disinfection and others.
- Admission is possible for Ghanaian and foreign students at GTUC
- Place of study is Accra (Ghana)
- Responsibility for the program and its quality management is associated with Anhalt University.
- The first courses start from September 2016
Ghana: Prof. Dr.Jonas Amoapim, Dean of Engineering Faculty, GTUC
Germany: Prof. Dr. Henry Bergmann, Head of the Program, Anhalt University
